Just to update all you lovely ladies who messaged me I'm back home. Took an hour and a half due to a road closure between myself and the hospital and I was stressing all the way there holding myself in lol. Got in, they examined me and I have dilated to an easy 3 cm stretching 4-5 cm now. Then my contractions just stopped. Tried walked bouncing and got quite upset about it all. They offered me a bed to stay in over the weekend as I'm still in latent labour. But I opted to come home. Literally got outside the hospital and they started up again. They think my prior experiences of my previous labours is distressing me being in hospital and it's hindering progress. So gave instructions to call an ambulance if my waters go and contractions thick and fast follow or bleeding. They said if I can't comfortably sit in the car to not try to. I burst into tears cos I'm so worried about not getting back in time as I'm slowly dilating, but at the same time I don't want to stay in hospital doing nothing. They wouldn't break my waters before Monday when they are due to do it as they had a couple of ladies who had been waiting a few days for a bed on delivery to have ARM anyway. So the best they could do was keep me in. It could be in my own environment this evening when apparently your hormones are higher I labour more efficiently and come back in or things just carry on being up and down till Monday. They did give me a third sweep. So I'm now just waiting again now. Also baby is still OP so that could be causing this start stop labour. She needs to rotate still. Not sure she will tho as she is fully engaged still. Think this is going to be a long and emotional weekend. 😭😭

when I was in labour with my second I wasn't allowed home at 3 cm
@suzie80, I feel for you so much right now Pregnancy and labour is such a test of character and just sometimes so damn difficult. But you're so strong and you'll do this you'll be holding that baby soon not long now all this time against a few days and there are options if you're so tired. It'll be ok I'm thinking of you Hun xx
Yeah that seems to be what I am doing. I've started up again but there more spaced apart and I'm currently sat struggling to keep my eyes open. So frustrating when u have had several babies and then this happens. I have cankles this evening too from all the walking they made me do. I have no idea how I'm gonna cope till Monday when I'm due in anyway. 😭 @saraelisa
This sounds like my experience @suzie80 I had the choice to stay in at 4cm contractions were irregular but strong 15 mins apart then turned to 5 mins. They offered me pethidine I said no. Went home following day was in completely agony I'd had enough I didn't want to stay on the ward screaming through my pain so they took me in and out me on gas and air to pacify me. That was the start of my 10hr labour. It amazes me that baby was chilled out not in any distress yet my body was just so confusing me and I was so frustrated and upset. It got to a stage when I thought I'd be way to tired to push. They had to break my waters and put me on hormones to make the contracts consistent. All in all it'll here I am nearly a week tomorrow she was born, so I hope that in no time, you'll be on your way to seeing your baby. Xx
Apparently it's not uncommon when u have had so many children. U can dilate slowly for days sometimes weeks then boom. I'm feeling like such a failure. Midwife gave me a hug and said it's not my fault, and I did the right thing coming in as they wouldn't want me delivering at home. Personally I think them@telling me I couldn't have a water birth and would be canulated and kept in bed was what tipped me over the edge I got upset as my consultant said I could have one.
If your not in active labour i.e. Regularly contracting 4 in 10 or even 1 in 10 then your not in active labour. Mine stalled from the stress. I just stopped. They made me walk everywhere bounce on the ball. Nothing again. So they gave the option of stay in or come home and in my own environment they start. Which they did and they stopped all night again. U can walk around a long while@dilated and not be in active labour at all. Plus my cervix although dilated hasn't completely effaced and gone paper thin so still has some work to do @jules32
