What is everyone's opinion on trying to jump start labor yourself at 37 weeks ? I've seen where some consider that full term , but other consider 40 weeks full term instead . If I was to want to try and kick labor into gear by 37 what are the risks if any , if there is none and it's perfectly okay , what are some things you've done that helped . Please don't be rude with comments . I was overweight before I got pregnant and now I'm beyond miserable from gaining another 35 lbs. Just want to know my options if I have any ..
Full term is consider 39 weeks, I know a lot of babies can be perfectly fine at 37 weeks but others need a lil more time, I was 41 weeks when I had my daughter and when I had her, her ear wasn't fully developed, her time was about right so it's not like doctors miscalculated how far I was by a lot, I know it's hard specially the last weeks but the longer the better
My doctor gave me the okay at 36 weeks. But she wasn't born until 38 weeks, I was induced.
normally it isn't a good thing to do because your due date is an estimate. you may be trying to evict a baby too early because you want to hold them. their lungs still may not be fully developed. I would not self induce without a full proper discussion with your doctor.
