I have a question for you ladies .. is there anyone on here who when they were younger who took ADD/ADHD medicine or has a child that is currently on meds. I wanted to know about side effects, how it made you or your child feel while on it. I've done a lot of research on this but have never asked anyone who's been or currently on meds for add/ADHD...

How much tv/tablet are you doing? And how longs it been since you cut down? I started only 1 hr of tv at night and games I'm doing none during the wk and 2 hrs a day on wkend. I didn't even think about the dye! I'm also going to start getting him more active, he has basketball only on saturdays, we have a y membership so I think I'm going to start going a few times a wk. I started cutting sugar too.

YES that's what I'm struggling with I don't wanna lose my sweet little boy. I am literally driving myself crazy with this but I just have to think he doesn't have to be on meds forever maybe just to get over this bump in the road. I've cut our TV / tablet time down. I cut out Red 40 dye starting vitamins. I've tried everything. I just don't know what to do anymore

It's about 2 out of 5 for mine too. I recently (just started this wk) cut down his tv time and game time on the computer to see if that helps. There's a study about them and it said there's so much going on while they're watching/playing and their brains are doing so much that when they have to listen to 1 teacher and do 1 worksheet they can't because their brains are always looking for the stimulation from the tv/games, so they literally can't focus on just one thing. It's such a tough thing to go through and decide on, I don't want him to not be him anymore you know.

@bianca_rose ..we have been thinking about this since he was 3 and in preschool. His teacher says he's one of the top in the class he can't focus long enough. I'm going to say 2 outta 5 days he can concentrate. I think its time we get him to his Dr again. I don't want my 6 year old hating school BC its to hard when I know he can do it

I'm having the same issues @lyndzy-2517 my son is 8 but we've been having this issue for a couple yrs. I started the process at the dr office to have him checked for that but I'm not sure about it, it's not every single day I have problems, but it is most days

I'm on meds. have been for 6 years (minus pregnancy and breast feeding) it took a very lomg time to find a medicine that worked for me but when we found it i was a different person. I went from dropping iut of school ny junior year to going back and walking with my class with all As. it will really help him if he has adhd.

I'm on meds , it makes you calmer , some people hate the side affects though because you don't feel like yourself and you lose your appetite it also makes you go to the bathroom alot .
