@showersoverflowers, yep! My husband went back to work the day after I gave birth. He was super upset and sad bc he was missing all those precious moments with his newborn son. The US does allow paternity leave but it is unpaid time unfortunately.

@emilyd, very true. It's also important to realize other countries acknowledge the importance of paternity leave as well

If you research it, you will discover that the US is one of the only countries with this kind of obligation in effect. Most other countries provide maternity leave for longer periods or allow mothers to bring their children to work as long as it is not a dangerous environment for the child. We got it backwards here.
