Been breastfeeding since the day Bella was born and the last 2 days have just been a mess, she has a tongue tie that makes her struggle a little when she's feeding and it's definitely taking a toll on her because she and I've been trying so hard to not supplement using formula and not to use a pacifier and just keep working with her to get her to latch properly all the time so that she's getting what she needs and it's less painful for me but I ended up giving in and giving her a little formula last night and caved today and pumped my milk for her to bottle feed her because my boobs were so sore and hard and my nipples are hurting a lot too, I feel almost like a wimp because I've caved and given her bottles (although they're the bottles that are ideal for if you're breastfeeding) when she's only 3 days old, any other moms who breastfeed but ended up giving their baby a bottle from time to time feel like that? I asked her pediatrician if supplementing because of her tongue tie would be okay and she gave me the green light which gives me a little comfort but it's still a little discouraging. I'm hoping worst case scenario if we can't get the hang of feeding on my actual boob I'll just have to continue to pump and that'll be enough so I don't have to use anymore formula for her.
