Tips on how to relieve gas... my almost 2 week old has had really painful gas for the past few nights and my SO doesn't want to give him gas drops. I appreciate any advice, even your experience with your babies taking gas drops. I hate hearing him cry from this, it's excruciating. I tried massaging his tummy, back, and stretching his legs out.... it helped a little, but I want permanent relief for my poor baby. TIA ladies.
I would push my baby's knees up to her tummy and help her push out the gas.
Thanks! That's actually what I've been doing, but now I'm doing in way more just in case. I actually take breaks while he's nursing to burp him cause' my son likes to eat like he never has before and then throws it all up. @b3autymarkk23
Thank you so much, I feel so much relief now that he's relieved. @bria @romesmommy
my son was suffering from gas & i thought it was from dairy products so i stopped eating dairy but it really was all due to me not burping him after every single feeding. i gave him gas drops i went to the er & he was fine lol just make sure u constantly burp him. whenever my son is fussy for no reason i assume its gas so i burp him and he burps and feels better.
@bria, I'll definitely look that up and I rubbed his lower abdomen some more and he's been passing gas a lot so that's good.
Lay him on his tummy the pressure help push out the gas also you can rub his tummy then push his knees toward his stomach/chest
Ahh yeah he's def not constipated which is great. I'm sure you can Pinterest or YouTube or check a babycenter board for breastfeeding positions to help alleviate gas, but I never used gas drops Bc she was too young in my opinion and my ped basically said "they might work" but not a guarantee. Only website I really run off of for baby is aap (American academy of pediatrics)
His poop has been yellow which is normal for healthy breastfed babies, so I'm glad he's no constipated. I think it may be some of the positions I've had him in while breastfeeding. I wish I took the class in the hospital but he actually needed to be changed and fed right when it started so I didn't go. @bria have you used gas drops ever? I've heard good things so I'm really on the fence about it... my SO doesn't trust meds 😐
Honestly I haven't, this sounds bad but I have only been eating like once a day, drinking lots of fluids and taking my prenatal. I'll pay more close attention to what I'm eating, I think it may be the positions I've had him in while breastfeeding. I just want him to be better, I feel so helpless. @mommymcclung
If he's breastfed his poop pattern is liable to kind of be all over the place at first but if it's constipation (where he's pooping pebble-like that's hard) call the ped and they'll probably recommend some type of suppository
Could have been something you ate but also could just be normal. He's super tiny so a lot of babies that age are gassy it's just their digestive systems finishing developing and stuff. If it's persistent try modifying what you eat but I honestly think a lot of babies go through that. My daughter got breastmilk and formula for the first six weeks and then switched her to formula cuz my milk dried up but she was super gassy the first couple weeks
@sarisings, have you noticed any trigger foods that you eat that make him more gassy? I breastfeed as well and my little man had bad gas too. He's only 10 weeks old and he rarely cries because of it anymore. He still is really gassy but he has gotten the hang of relieving the gas himself! Hang in there momma 💙
I did both and it helped, then my SO rubbed his back and he's better now... but he's been waking up in the middle of the night and won't go back to sleep because the pain is so bad. @bria
Do bicycle exercises with his legs and rub his lower belly (under belly button) counter clockwise
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
How do can i help my baby with gas,he crys from it for hours, gas drops don't seem to help and pushing his legs up makes him cry more HELP
Trigger. Lost baby
Went in for my 20 week check up and found out our son had passed away. Nothing was wrong, my pregnancy has been going great. I'm so numb right now. I'll he delivering him later this week. I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this. Not before Christmas. How am I'm going to tell my kids?? My dear sweet baby boy. Why did this happen?
Due date
How likely are you to actually give birth on your due date, especially with your first kid? I don't want him to come on his exact due date because I don't want him to share a birthday with a certain someone.
My bf moved with me to be closer to my family when I got pregnant. He has made it clear he hates living so close to my parents and wants to move. Which is fine, I don't always want to live near my parents. But we also have an 11 month old and another baby due in july. I still go to highschool and told him I just want to finish out highschool without moving schools again. I've done it too many times in my life. And it's hard enough making new friends when your a teen mom. His response is I don't ...
