My baby gets breast milk most of the day but during the night I've been feeding formula.. I've been using similac supplementing formula. He sometimes gets more formula then breast milk during the day depending on the day. Just not sure if I can still use the supplementing one or if I need to get another kind of formula? I remember the pediatrician stating if he is getting 50% formula then I need to switch to regular formula?! Anyone know anything about it?!

My son got put on similac sensitive because the sim advanced was bothering his belly. I was never told that he couldn't be on a supplementing formula but I just used a regular one from the get go when decided to introduce formula after going to countless lc's and being told that I just don't produce enough for him. We're 7 months out an he only nurses once a night and that's it as far as breastmilk goes😔

I'm kinda in the same boat! My nipples had open sores because the first two weeks I didn't know what I was doing.. but I can only pump like 2-3oz two or three times a day and it just isn't enough! But with the supplementing formula now my little one has been so colicky and constipated! I might have to just go buy regular instead of supplemental. @scc2413

I was so upset because I went to so many breastfeeding classes, talked to moms I knew that did 2 years successfully, ate everything on the planet that's suppose to increase supply and still nothing, I don't want to give up but I don't want him to keep getting frustrated when hardly anything is coming out because then he refuses to latch anyways. He was eating 6oz at 4 months and I literally couldn't keep up because I'd be lucky is I got 3oz the entire day pumping. I know every baby is different but my son does really well with the sim sensitive and I've heard the one for gas is good also.
