How Should I Spell 'Ellie' as a Nickname for Brielle?
My dilema is, I am naming my little lady, Brielle... I thought she would be called Ellie for short. I've been told the spelling like that doesn't go with the name, so now I'm all mixed up and don't know what to do. I am told it should be spelled Elle, but I think that would be read as "L" .. How would you spell it so it sounds like "L E " lol I know it's just something that will probably most likely get changed but I would like to have an idea.

I think the way you want to spell it is fine, I don't think a name has to have the nickname in the name, if that makes sense lol. Like my name is Amanda but I go by Mandy.

I know ppls names are spelled so differently, and some have nothing to do with the original name. My sister is Micehl, she goes by Kel. Being a first time mom every decision I make seems to weigh so heavily on me, it's probably just the hormones!! I have just been getting a lot of raised eyebrows when I tell people how I was going to spell it.
