I am not British and I do not know anything about doctors, hospitals etc here. Today I have found that I am pregnant. We want a baby with my husband but we are not young. Could you help me and explain all steps that I should do to have a healthy baby? Thanks

First you need to go to your GP and they are going to make a referral to a midwife, then you'll get a letter for your first appointment and the midwife will look after you from there xx

Thank a lot! How long will it take? I have had miscarriages and I am afraid. Can I protect myself before?

You'll usually see your midwife around 9 weeks and then get a scan 3 weeks later xxx.My friend didnt find out she was pregnant until 7 months xxx
Irina·
Thanks a lot! I do not drink and smoke :-))
Chloe·
get these ones not the multi vitamins as they are proven to not have any effect. if you drink coffee try and cut it right down until you can stop drinking it and yeah just like all the other girls said contact your gp and they will look after you xxx
Gabi·
If you had previous miscarriages they'll give you an early scan around 5-7 weeks xx
Chloe·
@gabilicious, I did not know that I've had four in total haven't told my doctor that I'm pregnant yet. gonna get on that tomorrow if that's the case xx
Gabi·
Yeah you need to get there as soon as and get it sorted xx @celizabethj90
Chloe·
I just thought as I'm only 4 weeks they wouldn't do anything untill I'm about 8 weeks @gabilicious xx
Irina·
I think I am the same.. about 4 weeks xx

I'm supposed to be 5+3 and I had a scan on Wednesday, got another one this weekend, they check you a lot more now days especially if you're high risk or had previous losses xx @celizabethj90 @maxy15
Irina·
@gabilicious, it is unusual for me here. It my country doctors check you nearly every month with the scan :-)
Gabi·
It all just depends if you're high risk, if you had previous miscarriages etc. With my last pregnancy I had scan every 2 weeks because I'm high risk and had lots of problems so they had to make sure the baby was hanging in there x @maxy15
