Anyone on here NOT get the flu shot from their doctor around this time?

@heatherlg88, seriously so glad I'm not the only one. So many people get them but I'm like I never have and I'm never sick so I've never felt the need to so why would I start now? Lol I just don't want my doc to get all weird about it because we've been on the same page with everything this whole pregnancy and we agree on so much I would hate for it to get weird towards the end lol hopefully she's just like ok and then moves on

@starrbaby, yeah that's what I'm saying! I've never taken it and I'm never sick, I would hate to get it and then get sick. So I'm just going to respectfully decline when she goes to give it to me on Friday.

she might get weird some docs r like that ugh, but we have our choices. plus when I've had the flu shot in the past it just made me sick. which happens to alot of people. you dont NEED it but it is going to be requested, just say that you'd like to decline for the time being and you'll request it at a future appointment if you change your mind. the flu shot is more for you anyways not the baby the tdap gets passed to the baby for whooping cough prevention until baby can get the vaccine at its 2 month shots

@wethreepeas, good it's nice to know someone who totally understands. After I got the tdap I was kinda like man I should have that about it first instead of just letting my her go right ahead. When she said she going to do the flu shot next time once I got home I started to really think about it and decided I wasn't going to get it. Especially since I never have before so hopefully she doesn't get all weird when I tell her no thanks lol!

i dont get the flu shot and wont either. maybe the tdap again. but idk about that yet either. mom husband and i dont really get the shots the recommend at check ups its ok to decline

Well he never mentioned it to me just the tdap can I still get it? @ginnalynn @kaseylyn I got the TDAP but my dr was just so weird

@gordis13, when I got my tdap shot 2 weeks ago she mentioned me getting the flu shot next appointment (which is on Friday) and I've never been the kind to get flu shots and I rarely ever get sick so I've been thinking I was going to turn it down and tell her no thanks that I'm not interested.

he/she should've @gordis13 , it's their job. I've worked beside a couple different doctors including an OB

it's a doctor's job to recommend it @gordis13 even though it is up to the patient. they legally have to let you know what precautions are available to you and offer them

Your doctor recommended to get it? She shouldn't it's up to you if you want it or not

@cubanese, yeah I've never had one ever either and I don't think I'm going to get it tomorrow. I hardly ever get sick neither does my husband. @gordis13 ok good I'm glad I'm not the only one. Hopefully my doctor doesn't get weird tomorrow when I tell her I don't want it lol
