my little one is 16 weeks and 4 days... when did you all start feeding rice cereal? and how did you prepare it ?
If she is not getting full at feedings and/or showing interest in your food when you are eating, she is ready to try cereal. Serve it to her quite thinned with breastmilk. Cereal at this age should be treated as a snack, so once (maybe twice) a day. The main purpose for introducing cereal is to teach babies how to eat solids as it's completely opposite from nursing. More recent studies have been done that show delaying solids leads to more food allergies and pickier eaters. Trust your gut and follow your baby's cues, mama.
if you put the rice cereal in breastmilk/formula it is NOT a choking hazard. it will dissolve and just thicken the liquid.
my pediatrician recommended it ... yikes that makes me nervous... I'm going to keep researching... thank you very much
I wouldn't introduce rice cereal... it has no nutritional value, it's also a choking hazard if you introduce it in a bottle. I would try the baby Oatmeal, but my daughter is almost 7 months and she's never had anything but my boob, so it's not my call. 🙂

What year did you graduate high school?
