Any advice from breast feeding moms ? I REALLY want to do it this time !!!
Use nipple cream in the beginning before and after each feeding get the nipple breast shield which will prevent your sensitive nipples from touching anything also remember cluster feeding is normal and baby will be on breast a lot in the beginning also just look for diaper outputs to know baby is having enough pump once a day in the beginning I do have a slight oversupply but it's good for me personally the first 6 weeks are hard I'm at 12 weeks and it's so much easier now🙂🙂 btw I use to scream when my daughter latched on my breast and it was so painful for me I just fought through it with nipple cream and gel pads also the breast shields so my nipples wouldn't touch my clothes and your nipples eventually toughen up too :) it was awhile before I could shower like normal around 6-7 weeks
Nipple shield for the first few days and then wean off of it. It's not needed unless there's issues latching but I think it helped with the pain too
it was only hard and hurtful while in the hospital, when I got home it was a lot easier
I gave up with my 4 year old right away ... I was so exhausted and she was fussy and it hurt me . ( I know silly reasons ) but I am determined this time !
Push through the first two weeks. They are the hardest. but it gets easier!!
Educate yourself as much as possible ahead of time. Know that it will be extremely hard in the beginning, but it does get better. Open up to lactation consultants but they are invaluable. Consider a nipple shield only in the beginning periodically while your nipples adjust, but do not make it a permanent tool.
Thanks everyone !!!!!
