Opinions on circumcision? why or why not...would love to hear the diff opinions. I see the pros and cons from both…

I would definitely talk to more than one professional some of them are biased @doubleksmommy .Yeah I watched an informative one that didn't show the actual procedure first about the pros and cons then I tried watching the procedure and couldn't get through it is stoped after I saw them restrain the poor baby. @chibiytino

yeah u are definitely right @abrahamsmommy I am going to watch a lot of videos and get some professional opinions as well and weigh the pros and cons

117 children die each year from circumcision, that alone is a risk I wont take for my child, if he wants to once he's older he can it's his body ,if it wasn't supposed to be thare why would he be born with it ,the for forskin has multiple functions , I would watch some videos of circumcision to help me decide, over all I would do my own research to decide something this big on my child first , you will get a lot of mixed answers on here

@chibiytino, yes its true 😢 they asked my mom if she wanted to do it with my youngest sister.

I also heard that they now cut some part of the girls too..true ? ..my boyfriend his isn't cut either an hasn't had a problem with it either .we want it to be our sons decision on what to do with his body not up to us.

well we didn't get my son circumcised.. my SO isn't either. it's my sons body if he wants to get it done then he make that decision when he's old enough to be able too. also MY thoughts are why would that part of the skin need to be cut off... if all boy babies are born with it.. mhm

later in life of my child wants to remove his extra skin, fine by me.. but I know as a mother I tried my best to do what I can in informing him about other opttions ...I know I won't be the cause why he's asking me why he looks so different down there from his cousins . ..

My son got it done in the hospital at 1 day old. I have a medical card and it covered it. It's becoming what some insurances deem a cosmetic procedure and some won't cover it. Ask your OB about it and they should be able to tell you if it's covered.

I understand the side that says that the baby is more likely to get infection if they don't get the extra skin off, my boyfriend an I have talked about the decision on this for while now, and will leave his parts like god made them,my boyfriend & I will talk to my son at a early age about hygies and later one about how to protect him self from sex transmitted disease that are out there..taking off that extra skin of the child is not 0 sure he wont get a sex transmitted disease.

he was about 6 weeks because they wanted to do it closer to when he was coming home from the hospital @doubleksmommy

@ginnalynn, thank u! that's what I heard too. @jacesterlingsmommy that's what I'm leaning towards too if my baby is a boy. I've always been pro circum. but it seems like it is becoming more frequent for people not to do it these days and got me wondering why.

I had my son circumcised. My mom works at nursing homes and the men that do not have circumcision are more prone to infection. People argue that it has to do with hygiene. Well this is true but these are boys we are talking about. Most are lazy and it's even more disgusting what an uncut man can get under there than what a cut man can. My son is more prone to yeast infections because he was not cut right.

I left it up to my fiancé. He is circumcised so he decided he wanted it done to our son. Alot of people will argue it's more prone to infection or not. It's just what worked for us. My feeling on it is yeah his body but it's much harder to get done as an adult. I had a long conversation with my fiancé about it and he ultimately decided he was glad his mom had it done and wouldn't want to not be. Although I'll admit it's becoming the norm not to do it.

I'm a lab tech and have seen an infected foreskin, it's absolutely horrid! I had my son circumcised. Plus, if a man has problems later on in life and has to get the foreskin removed, I've heard it was absolutely horrible.
