That person can still walk out of your life and not look back and be married to you. Marriage is just written on paper and having something on your finger, and a relationship doesn't have those 2 little things. That's the difference.

@valerie_jean, I am speaking from married experience . I refuse to be a loyal ass girlfriend and be with that person forever who has no plans to marriage. I don't date to be a girlfriend I date for marriage and I know my husband will not just walk out of my life that easy. No real man would. And as I stated facts are facts if it ain't on paper it's irrelevant by law.

@mommy1987, THANK YOU . And only a married woman will understand that! As much as I have been through with my husband I can't just leave but if we were married then hell yeah we probably both would have ran for the hills. To have someone who you KNOW is willing to try as hard as you is a sigh or relief.

I like to think that the vows that my husband and I made in front of our family before God is a little more than a piece of paper. A ring is a symbol of our commitment.

my husband's aunt and her "husband" have been together for 14 years. I don't think they're single. they're happy and childless and I think that's all that matters

@madibug96, and my has been with her "husband" for over 10 years it's called common law marriage thats a huge difference .
