Hey I need y'all's opinions.
So my son is 9 months old and he takes three 6 ounce bottles per day. His pediatrician said that if I want to, it wouldn't hurt to give him an extra bottle every day. I thought about it and I've decided not to because 1. He's been eating more solid foods lately, and 2. I don't want him to have any more formula than he has to have.
If it were breast milk, I would absolutely give him another bottle.. But I don't feel the same about formula. I only want him to have what he absolutely needs, nothing extra.
People have been making me feel kinda bad about my decision and I would like some of your opinions!
Thanks!
He's been more interested in solids than formula Mande ewsmommy
Mmm he sounds fine to me then. Soon he'll want to eat more though so maybe another bottle in a few months will help fill him
Thanks so much @roche.mommy6435, that's just what I needed to hear!
@keepingupwithhj, of course, i wasnt meaning it in that way. i was just meaning that if he is over all healthy then i dont see the point in giving an extra bottle, hun. especially if he is doing good with the baby foods. one thing i have learned is not to allow people to make you feel bad for your parenting choices. hes happy and healthy then keep doing what youre doing:)
This chart I have says at 9 months their suppose to have 4 bottles of formula every 6 hours. Is that what you give him?
As long as he's not starving and gaining the proper amount of weight I think your decision is fine.
I would not ever keep any nutrition from him that he needs, but I do not feel that formula is as beneficial as breast milk... But I unfortunately cannot produce it anymore.
can i ask why you feel that way about formula? either way if hes gaining the right amount of weight then i dont see a problem. you just need to make sure he doesnt get dehydrated. that may be the doctors concern.
