Looks like I'll have to move out 😔
My ex said to me that it is his house as he has been paying the mortgage most months - but the house is in my name.
Seriously don't know what to do ☹️
I have just been looking on the citizens advice website. As my name is on the papers I am not entitled to move. According to the website he is paying the mortgage but he isn't part of this property. He has no right because he is just a guarantor. If his name was put down next to mine then he could stay. I also read that I have 28 days to get him to leave otherwise I can take the matter to court @saraelisa x
Don't move anywhere the house is in your name. My friend has just undergone a sticky divorce they were married. He paid some of the mortgage but she had the house in her name because initially she bought it. He will have some right to the house if you were to sell it, if he sought advice but no, this house is yours. For example if you couldn't pay the bills you'd be the first port of call. It's in your name Hun - stay! X
The house itself is in my name, my ex is just a guarantor. I think that's where he's getting a little confused. I said to him I can go get paperwork to prove it's my house and he started telling me to just hurry up and get out 😶. It's like he's forgot his two children live here too! X
Definitely a good idea going to citizens advice :) hope you get it sorted Hun xx
@leah_jade, yep in the eyes of the law it's your house, he really should check things out before throwing threats like that at you! Doesn't matter who stumps up the money Hun. Hope you get sorted xx
That's what I said to him! I've got an appointment with the citizens advise tomorrow - looking online I have found exactly what you have said. It's in my name, so surely he's the one that needs to go! Xx
Its under your name so your house.
