Before your due date *

Nobody has talked about induction to me, and even if they did I would refuse it because it's unhealthy and creates risks.

told me I would be induced at 38 weeks, got induced at 37 x

@miicat, but if you have health reasons to be induced, then it's better for the baby and yourself. x

@oliviafaye It depends on the health reasons, many times doctors just make things out to be worse when you'd actually be fine, but yes it is better to be induced in some cases!

@oliviafaye, how far gone were you when you found out? And was there a reason why? @littleelf85 xx

I am 6 days past my due date now and they have brought my induction date forward what should of been the 13th to now this Sunday the 9th. I had a sweep yesterday which I didn't want but I had reduced movements and was told baby is better out than in. I could still refuse the induction my midwife tells to leave it a little longer but providing baby is ok still on the inside... just have to play each labour by ear I suppose x

I had growth scans every 2 weeks. I got told at 32 weeks I will be getting induced at 38 weeks. I had gestational diabetes and was on 5 insulin injections a day, was carrying too much water. I got induced at 37 because my blood sugars just wasn't coming down even tho they kept upping my insulin, and towards the end I couldn't feel her kick anymore. I went in at 36 weeks 6 days to be monitored because I didn't feel her kick and they said we will induce in 2 days, she came at 37 weeks 2 days as I was in labour for 2 days, and she was perfect. was sent home the following day @lucxo x

I was told I was going to be induced if I wasnt in active labour within 24 hours (thats what has to happen if your waters break first) I ended up going into active labour naturally xxx

Mine wasn't planned. Waters broke naturally but there was meconium in it. Once I got to hospital after a couple hours they said they wanted to induce me to get things going quicker as it can be harmful to baby. Took them half a day to actually get my induced though!

I was induced because the fluid had decreased around her 😒 but it didn't work and I ended up having contractions for 3 days with the hospital only giving me paracetamol for the pain😳😳 my waters broke naturally and then I was in established labour for 3.5 hours @lucxo xx

I was having growth scans every few weeks because baby was measuring a lot bigger than he should. I was told at 36 weeks that I'd be induced at 38 weeks, seen a different consultant who told me to wait 10 days past my due date before being induced. 2 weeks later on my due date I seen another consultant who agreed that baby was measuring far too big and I started getting complications such as high BP and protein in my urine. I demanded to be induced and the consultant agreed. So I was taken in at 40+1 and had my baby at 40+2. He was 10lbs 4oz and he got stuck. I had to have an episiotomy and my baby had to be pulled out. I lost a lot of blood as well so if I had of listened to the 2nd consultant, chances are things would've been a lot worse. x
