I never realized how incredibly frustrating breastfeeding is. I feel like such a failure, constantly wondering what I could have done sooner to make this easier. I didn't even budget formula because I was so set on breastfeeding. It feels like I dried up:(. Last baby boy breastfed was two days ago, once on both boobs (thank goodness because I was so engorged). If I'm not engorged he won't latch. He has to smell, see, and taste the milk before I can even think about putting him on. What do I do?😥 all I wanna do is make milk for this baby and fuck it's hard! Ugh
@chelseaepley, thank you sooo much! I just want to be the best mom and I know how amazing milk is. I wish I could see the milk lol. Is it normal for it to hurt when he's latched on? And when I hand express very very little milk comes out. It's actually clear looking so I don't know if it's milk or what.
your milk is probably just regulating! it's its totally normal to not be engorged anymore. your body knows what he needs abd thats all you make. try hand expressing a little to get a letdown before you latch him on. to keep your supply up, latch him on frequently. every time he fusses, latch him on! it's supply and demand. the more he eats the more you make. and drink lots of water, like so much you feel like you're going to float away. every thing will work out. breastfeeding is scary becuse you cant physically see how much baby is eating. as long as he's having 6 or more wet diapers a day and is gaining good, hes getting enough. trust your body momma, it was made for this! :)
I drank it all day long and little by little i noticed i was pumping more and more i was able to get 4-5 oz a breast most times in 1 pump. Its not the greatest tasting tea but its def tolerable
@dylansmom, haven't tried it but I'll get some today. How soon after did you start producing more?
milk changed colors all throughout breast feeding. I had pumped some milk once that was super yellow because my baby was sick! I had a friend pump milk that had a blue look to it! and no its not normal for it to hurt the whole time, the initial latch will sting a little but it's not supposed to hurt. had baby been checked for lip and tongue ties? lip tie ruined my breast feeding with my first and i had my 2nd checked immediately for one and it helped so much! try getting in to see a lactation consultant. hospitals usually have one on staff and they'll help you a lot. @jesjeslovesyou
