Okay so I'm probably going to sound a little dumb here lol but I've just been trying to figure out if my partner and I are entitled to any help financially once we have baby! Does anyone know how much you earn before you aren't entitled to child tax credits etc?
And someone's told me about a sure start maternity grant? But I'm pretty sure my partner earns too much for us to claim? X
Think you have to earn under £28,000 for working tax credits. It's around that amount I know me and my partner aren't entitled as together we earn over xx the sure start maternity grant you have to be on some sort of benefits to claim which is a bleeding joke ! Xx
@charney91x, as long as one of you works over 25 hours a week (I think) and is over 25 (can be any age but with a child) then you'll be intitled to working tax credits then everyone gets child tax and child benefit, you can get the maternity grant if your on income support, JSA, some disability benefits or if you get the higher rate child tax credits x
We aren't entitled to anything other than the £50 child benefit that everyone gets. It sucks. You work hard and then get nothing in return. X
