Usually some sort of credit union is your best bet for loans (including car loans) since they have lower rates. We actually went through my husband's old credit union and they somehow found us a good rate through Colonial Savings (I believe that's our mortgage). Just make sure that you are serious about getting a loan because every time you fill out the paperwork, they do a hit on your credit which will lower it.

Honestly you'll first want to see how much you can get approved for so find a decent bank and see what you can get. It may be no where close to what you are looking for so You may want to work on getting credit scores up because that will help you in the long run and while you work on that, save some more money. Everyone always forgets about closing costs and even if you have enough for the down payment and closing costs, it's always nice to have a little safety net in case something breaks on the house. While you're waiting for credit scores to come up or more money or whatever, start browsing online to see what your budget might be and figure out what you are looking for in a house. Once you get approved for roughly the amount you're looking for and you know what you're looking for in a house, start contacting realtors to help you out. Even if the house you were looking at online is gone, still mention it to them since they can help find something similar.

first check your credit score. it should be a 620 or better. 2nd find a good bank that would give a good rate., 3rd find a good Realtor next figure out a budget how much are you willing to pay for a house. download Zillow app and start scoping out houses in the area ubare interested in and finally u need to have at least 5K to 10K in a savings or checking account. ( My husband and In purchased our first house July 2016)

Well the first step would be knowing your credit score and you're partners credit score because they have to be a certain range to get a loan, you'll then need to start saving for a down payment (my husband and I put 1000$ down on a 45k house with a 30 year fixed mortgage) and closing costs (mine was 3500$ on a 45k house) then find a bank that will approve you for a mortgage loan, once you get an amount you are approved for find a realtor to help you find the perfect home.
