I've got to vent ladies.. so Lucas is now 9 months and we have been fighting to keep him a healthy weight this whole time.. I don't know if he has a fast metabolism or what but his doctor just wants me to feed him with solids at least 3x a day and he already eats every two hours.. I love breastfeeding and being able to feed him but he's not gaining weight.. his height growth slowed a little bit but he has a clean bill of health otherwise.. has anyone else gone through this with their baby? I feel more disappointed in my body than anything even though I know it's not exactly my fault. I just feel like I'm letting my little boy down.
@santistevanmommie, @junesmommy_15 thank you ladies for the pep talk.💞 I'm going to feed him as suggested. This morning was a chaotic one and we were sent from our pedi in family medicine to pediatrics as a precaution in case something bigger is going on. It's so difficult to get him to stay put long enough to feed as it is.lol
My son was the same and the doctors made me scared that he was too small. My baby just so happens to be a little child. Also, when the more active they are, they tend to seem small. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you know he's not eating enough.
I would add the 3 meals on top of nursing. Don't let yourself feeling like you're failing. He just might need a little extra in calories than your body is able to produce. I started caleigha on table food about 8 months and she still nurses at least 4 times during the day and more at night.
That's what they want us to do. He nurses every 2 hrs as it is though@santistevanmommie
I understand! I've had to start feeding my little on the go! I literally lay on the couch with a boob out for an hr and as she plays she runs by for milkies
