I had the membrane sweep yesterday and he also stretched my cervix. said my cervix was favorable. I immediately started the period like cramps when I left the office at 3. By 6pm I was having stronger cramps non-stop. Also heavy pressure in my pelvis, thinking I just was feeling that she dropped more.
Went home, had sex, did tons of squats, started contracting about 10 mins apart. Strong but not too strong. Then went for a walk after laying in bed restless with my SO. Came back home, strong period cramps returned. Went to bed bc I was so uncomfortable . Woke up about 4am, very achy back, and period cramps. Went to the bathroom, had pinkish mucus when I wiped.
Went back to bed, woke up having more cramps was so hard to get out of bed bc of the pressure. Went to the bathroom, same thing happened. It's now 1:40 , hasn't been quite 24 hours since sweep and I'm cramping, now having diahrrea, and pinkish mucus when I went pee.
Did anyone just out of nowhere go into labor? My doctor really thought this would do it and said expects to get a call from me over the weekend of me being in labor. I'd like to say I'm showing signs of labor coming or early labor is happening. But I'm just not sure.
I really am just planning on being pregnant for 42 weeks, unfortunately bc nothing is giving me hope :(
@itsjasmine,
how far along were you? and did you just call and say it didn't work? I'm not sure my doctor would let me come back in before my weekly appointment next Thursday:(
I had my membrane swept twice back to back. The first sweep didn't work so I went back the next morning. Got swept again and my contractions started like right as we were walking out of the office. This was around 9 am. I went to l&d around 12 and at 3pm they admitted me. I had my baby the next day at 3 am :)
I was 39 weeks and some days. My baby was born a due before his due date. And I was told by my doctor that if the membrane sweep didn't work to just come back in as soon as they opened. I had my bloody show right before leaving for the second sweep so I knew I'd go into labor sometime soon.
