I personally don't see anything wrong with putting her on the side. she'll be fine :)

I mean it's OK if she turns.

I used to constantly turn my son on his back. Until I felt he had better head/neck control and could roll, I was paranoid he would suffocate himself if he fell over. He's almost a year now and he constantly rolls on his side/belly.

I'd let her roll on her own. My nurse taught me a trick since my little girl did it too, roll a towel up and lay it next to her below the waist so she can't roll all the way to her tummy

Lucy rolled on her side from day 1 too. She does switch back and forth throughout the night. She's more on her back now though at 6 weeks.
