🚨🚨🚨🚨Hey Moms with older children! I have a very interesting question and I would like everybody's input. At what age do you think it's acceptable to leave a child home alone for a few hours? I no I'm not talking about going out at night and partying I'm talking about running to the grocery store and errands.let me know I've been battling this a lot lately and have mixed emotions about it.
@chickedee, I know! I look at my one year old who looks exactly like my oldest did at that age and I'm thinking to myself it literally seems like just yesterday my oldest was that little. I never use to understand when my parents use to tell me that because to me waiting for Christmas to come seemed like an eternity. But this past 10 almost 11 years has passed me by and I'm like Stop growing!!!!
@chickedee that's what I've been trying to do like leave her at home for 15 minutes while I run to the grocery store because she hates going, and she knows not to open the door or get into things she shouldn't.
I started little by little last year when my boy was 11, now he is 12 and I know I can trust him, for the big stuff like fires, the door staying shut and not going bonkers getting into stuff.
Thanks ladies this is helpful my daughter is almost 11 (bday is is December) and I struggle with it she is extremely responsible bring the oldest of 3 she is mature for her age.
my brother is 11 & my mom would leave him home alone for a couple hours at a time if she needed to. as long as they understand they can't open the door for anyone & how to use a phone then they should be good.
10 I leave my son who is 10 by himself for 10 to 15 mins while I go to the store
