My birth story:
My husband and I came in at 5:30 a.m. yesterday to be induced.
They monitored baby and myself for about an hour and asked if I planned on getting an epidural. I had one with my first son and very much enjoyed my experience, so I planned on getting one again.
Before I knew it, the anistesiologist was setting up. It made me incredibly nervous, because I hadn't even been started on potocin yet and wasn't contracting.
My previous experience, I was already dilated to a 5 and contracting regularly, so I wasn't focused on the needle, I was focused on my contraction.
But, none-the-less, my anistesiologist this time around was wonderful and talked me through the entire process, making me feel great.
After my epidural took, they started pitocin and things progressed very fast.
I went from a 4 to a 6, then a 7 to a 9.5 just within an hour and a half.
When I got to a 9.5, things slowed. After being there for about an hour, my nurse suggested I try and push him through that last half inch.
We pushed for about 20 minutes and, while my nurse was distracted watching for another contraction, my husband said, "look at his hair!"
Little man was coming without or without the doctor there.
The nurse asked me to stop pushing and called for the doctor to get in the room now.
When the doctor came in, two easy pushes and Landyn Michael Knupp was born.
7 lbs 11 oz
19.5 inches long.
We are all so in love with him already.
I am one lucky Momma.
Now, I have had two wonderfully pleasant birthing experiences and my two amazing little guys to show for it.
