Birth Story.....
So I was having contractions all day Sunday off and on and they were strong so I decided to see if I could make them regular with some nipple stimulation and walking. Later that night I inserted 3 evening primrose and went to sleep...that was around 10 to 1030. I woke up around 230 am with contractions every 5 minutes....I arrived at the hospital at 315 am and my contractions tried to space out again and I picked them back up with nipple stimulation again. So the nurse checked me and said I was 2cm with a bulging bag of water. She was a sweet nurse but I immediately got irritated wondering how the heck I was almost 5 cm last week and now I'm 2? It wasn't adding up at all. I said something and she checked again and said maybe about a 3. Still didn't sound right. Then she tried to say something about sending me home and then saying they'll definitely admit me when my water breaks. I was getting a little pissed but she looked at my contractions and decided to "watch me a little longer". So the whole time I'm not knowing if I'm staying or what. So the doctor came in at about 930/10 am. She decided to break my water...my water bag was strong so she only gave me a slow leak...then that's when the contractions became unbearable. My original plan was no epidural but I changed my mind very quickly...these labor pains were so much stronger and more painful than my past labors like 10 times more! And I had no pitocin. So they said they had to get my blood and give me a full bag of fluid first. It took over 30 minutes to do it! They couldn't get a vein or they kept blowing. Several (over 7) sticks later they got the IV. While they were trying I started vomiting and sweating and I got butt naked and took my entire gown off , I didn't care! My darn fiancee was trying to fan me and kept accidentally hitting me in the head ugh! Anyways as soon as they were done I was like Oh my goodness I need to push! By now my contractions were hitting back to back and long, I felt no break in between. The nurse (a new and better nurse btw) wanted to check me and she was like "Oh this baby is coming now she is 8 or 9 centimeters." My heart dropped and she was like "NaTasha look at me sweetheart....I'm so sorry but you're not gonna get an epidural it's too late...but you can do this it will be ok"
I started to cry! This was my first time natural and I was scared but they kept reassuring me. So I got the overwhelming need to push and they ran and got the doctor and she got in there quick and I started pushing. So after about 5 minutes and 2 or 3 weak pushes they got me a mirror so I could see how close I was and see his head for motivation and it worked! After 2 more pushes I got his head out and boy that ring of fire was no joke! After 1 more push my little man was out! All in all I only pushed about 10 minutes I was so happy but I started hemorrhaging but by the grace of God they got it under control!
Thank you so much hun. It sure was a different experience. @mommyof2boogies
