any mom's here bipolar? were you on meds through your pregnancy? they put me on antidepressants instead of mood stabilizers and I'm not sure if it's just that my pregnancy hormones are much worse with this pregnancy or I need stronger/ different meds. any input is appreciated(:

guys, I can't go off my meds.. it's great that it's not recommended but I can't mentally handle being unmedicated. i just wanted to know if anyone stayed on mood stabilizers through the pregnancy and if they know of any safe ones.

I worked with my MD to get off meds when I got engaged. Since I also have PCOS it took 2 years to conceive and I was just taking seroquel for sleep/mania until i found out I'm pregnant. For the last 6 months I can sleep all day! So fatigued in this pregnancy because I'm now anemic and doubled up on iron

I don't recommend taking antidepressants during pregnancy. My sister is bi-polar and was taken off her meds but her doctor kept her on a antidepressants and he son had withdraws after delivery):

if I go off my meds I get suicidal within a couple days. I hallucinate and have almost constant panic attacks.
