So here's my labor story. I was due 09/12 and was going on 4 days overdue when my SO and I decided to do last minute maternity pictures. We had a good time, did some walking around with the pictures and I was having contractions that entire day without realizing it. Two days later we went to an event and was told to try raspberry leaf tea. We got some and a ball to bounce on and I began having stronger contractions that night. I went to sleep after a few glasses of tea and woke up at 3:00 AM with intense contractions. It was crippling! I breathed, bounced on a ball, and did squats for the next 3 hours until I couldn't take the pain anymore. We got to the hospital at 6 AM to find out that I was 4 cm dilated and 90 percent effaced. I was strep b positive so they kept me there. I sat through the contractions until moved to my own room. Several hours later I got an epidural. Kudos to the mommas that can do that shit without the drugs, lol. I don't even cramp while on my period so that type of pain was so unfamiliar. After the epidural I was pretty much fine, feeling back contractions here and there. At around 4 o'clock I was 9 cm dilated and started pushing around 5:45. My nurse wanted me to labor until he was pushed down further but I felt the need to push and couldn't wait. At that time I was 10cm dilated. The midwife took her time coming so my nurse helped me push. After a few long pushes and pain he was out! While pushing his head was peaking in and out and I was afraid he was going back in, lol. He finally came into this worked on 09/19 at 6:20 PM. My king was amazing throughout every single thing. He watched his son come into this world and catered to everything that I needed. He cut the cord, pushed up my feet, rubbed me down whenever I want and is just amazing. He's such an amazing father. I adore my family! Giving birth was the most beautiful thing I've ever done. He stayed in the NICU due to jaundice for three days and is now home, safe, and happy. I'm totally winging this mom thing, pray for me😂.
