My Labor Story:

Friday October 23rd 2015

I had a DR appointment. I was 38 weeks (i think lol) and getting tired of being pregnant. I was due the 29th. was having a lot of cramp like pains so my DR went and checked if I was dilating. I was 1cm. He said by the next week if I don't go into labor we'll induce at 39 weeks. My hips couldn't take the weight anymore. I went home, got some last minute things prepared and took a walk.

October 24th at 3am I woke up to strong 5 minute apart contractions which I thought was my bladder full. I peed and couldn't go back to sleep. I called L&D and they said I was in early labor. They said to relax drink water and try walking to relieve the pain. By 6am the contractions were 3 minutes apart. I called my SO and told him its time. He rushed to my house and we went to the hospital which was 10 minutes away. They checked me into triage and a nurse came and checked if i was dialted. I was 3cm. They sent me home around 10am and told me to try to walk some more. My SO made me breakfast and went to his cousins coffee shop 5 minutes away. As soon as he got to the shop I called him and said we had to go back they contractions got stronger. We got back to the hospital about 11:30 and they said I was 5cm and they admitted me. I called my mom and told her I was in labor. Her job was 10 minutes away. She called my dad who lives almost 2 hours away but happened to be 30 minutes away. We didn't plan on telling my dad the baby was born until he was literally born because drana with my SO and my dad. But my mom told him away. He was annoying the whole time. He got mad and left because I said I didn't want him in the room only my mom my so mom and my so. My mom MIL didn't show up until the next day when I did give birth because of work. My little sister came and my SO's cousin came and hung out for a while. The cousin left and it was just me my so my mom and my sister. I was pretty chill during these 3 minute contractions. My contractions weren't so bad. I could handle it. But around 7pm I asked for the epidural because I didn't want to feel the baby come out. My SO left to get food because the anesthesiologist had someone before me. I really wanted him to be with me but we didn't know how long the dr would take. My mom was in the room with me instead. My sister stepped out. They came in preped me and let me say I probably screamed and cried so loud I'm sure I scared the whole floor. The epidural was PAINFUL! I made my mom cry. After I got it I tried to sleep but couldn't. They broke my water after I got it also because it didn't break on its own. Hours and hours went by and no progress because the epidural slows your labor down.

October 25th at 12am they checked me again and said I was 8cm. We still just watched tv and whatever. At 1am they said I was a 10 and was ready to push. Thats when it hit us our whole life was about to change. They came in and prepared eveything. My moms over here taking pictures of every single thing lol My SO is getting nervous and my MIL still didn't show up like we wanted her to. They put my legs up and I began to push. The nurse holding my left leg asked my sister if she wanted to hold it and nervously she said yes. Shes only 14 so this was new lol I pushed and pushed for 45 minutes.. At 1:55am this little boy let out a big cry and our faces just lit up and we all got teary. And guess who walks in the door as my legs are up and baby just popped out, my MIL lol The nurses tried to tell her to leave but she told them she was grandma. They put baby on top of me and he immediately went for my boob lol Daddy cut the cord and we all started crying. My sister of course was like eww thats gross lol They took baby to the little table thingy to weigh him and clean him. They passed him back to me and started feeding. Never in our lifes have we been through something so incredible... Thank you lord Jesus for our Blessing💕
