Question for moms who have already gone through labor: How would you describe what contractions feel like?
I am 37 weeks today, and I have been having cramping like pains for the last few hours in my lower abdomen. They only last a few seconds but are very frequent. I have tried switching positions and stretching, but they just keep continuing.
Mines started feeling like really bad cramps and my baby was moving, so don't by the whole the baby doesn't move when contracting. Then they keep getting stronger and move to your lower back as well
Mine was major back cramps on Sunday and then I couldn't take it anymore so I went to the hospital and the dr said that I was only a 3 then I have a really strong contraction and I'm just trying to breathe then my water breaks and my husband was trying to clean me up and then they call for an ambulance and I keep telling them that I feel like I have to poop but when the ambulance arrived I was laying on my left side and then we barely made it onto the highway and I tell the paramedic Ii feel like I have to poop then I told him that it burns and he checked me and yelled to the driver to pull over told me to push then my baby had his cord wrapped around his neck then he told me to push again and then my son was born and Handed to me and I only labored no more than 4 hours and pushed for like 3 times because I was not trying to push but my body was doing it on its own
@ellieinmybelly, oh goodness!! I was 1 cm dilated at my appointment on Tuesday.
Thank you ladies for your comments. I shall start timing them and hopefully I'll get to meet my little boy soon!!
mine felt like just cramps until about 15 minutes before he was born. it took me 12 hours of that to realize that it wasn't just regular pregnancy pains. lol
mine were severe cramps, lasting about a minute and were 5-6 minutes apart. then 4-5 minutes apart so I went to the hospital. by the time I had her they were 2 minutes apart..
I had a feeling it might be. They arent bad enough to take my breath away, so I don't know if I should be timing them or not yet. This is my first child, so I'm trying not to be too paranoid.
my contractions never hurt at all, no cramps or anything. I went through 27 hours of labor and had to be told that I was having contractions because I couldn't really feel them. I've had kidney stones my whole life though, so I have an abnormally high pain tolerance. not all women hurt while in labor, so if you're suspecting something then go in immediately. the only reason I knew I was in labor was because my water broke naturally
