Breastfeeding mamas, I need some advice. I have a clogged duct right below my nipple. I exclusively pump so the shield is covering the area where the duct is. How do I get rid of it if I can't massage it out while pumping because the shield is in the way?

Ok. I finished pumping maybe 1.5 hours ago and wanted to get in the shower anyways. Thank you so much for the advice! @tayek

Run the teeth of the comb over your skin. (Light pressure.) Never massage a clog upward OR too hard, because that won't help. I know it sounds weird but I promise the comb plus the warm water will help. Also keep pumping. I pumped, showered, then did warm compresses.

@tayek, how'd you use a comb? Like the smooth edge?

Massage with downward strokes, toward the nipple. It helps, I promise. I used a comb while in a warm shower and was able to pump the clog loose in like a day or so.

Warm compresses and massage that breast before pumping.
