Oh wow I've never heard of that. But being a vegan while it'll make grocery shopping a bit more complex certainly isn't the end of the world. Your daughter is beautiful :)

It's a rare metabolic disorder where my daughter had to have very very little amounts of protein in her diet cause she can't process an amino acid called phenylalanine and so if she wasn't on a special diet it would cause severe metal retardation (sorry about that word, I hate using it but it's how her doctors describe it) she pretty much has to be a vegan her whole life
