You should discipline good at home so when you're out in public, you won't have to worry about them having a tantrum 🙃
When my son starts to freak out in public I try to talk to him or maybe sing a song so that he'll calm down. If that doesn't work, I let him cry. I mean there were times I walked out of the store but I figured there are plenty adults around, someone is bound to have children and know what it's like. Why should I leave because I'm "bothering" someone? Forget that. It's not their personal store. I always tell people even when they are staring, babies cry. Now my son has two kinds of tantrums. He'll cry and won't stop or he'll cut up and start kicking and hitting. I pop his little arm when he does that. He won't hate me but he will respect me. Not be afraid either. Our children are very smart. They test us. They know our reactions to their tantrums. That's why I refuse to walk out of a store again because he'll do it every time I go in one. Nope.😌
I run my errands during nap time so he sleeps in the basket😂😂
When in public with a toddler they can either be perfect angels or little monsters. When they are little monsters playing a "game" always helps and when you are excited about the game they will be too! (Game example if shopping )they are screaming because you passed a character on a cereal box they love! Say let's find more of that character! Walk down every aisle and have them look for the character, this helps you get all your shopping done while keeping them satisfied. I do know that that can back fire and turn into a bigger problem. As a parent you know you and your child better than anyone, do what you think is right and if all else fails there's no shame in trying to run your errands after a nap ! 😌
@baby_villa_number2, no my post was overall opinion. Not judging if anyone does it different.
My advice would be not to worry about what everyone else thinks. Everyone parents differently. Do what works for you and your child because ever child is different ❤️
@baby_villa_number2, yes! My parents spanked me and I turned out just fine and I still love them. I'm not to the toddler age, so I haven't had to do it yet. He will get a warning, but I don't believe in "oh no let's let you cry it out" that shows them that they are boss and you aren't. At the end of the day, I want my child to love me and respect me, not walk all over me! 💙 some don't understand the difference between disciplining and beating.
Well if there is a tantrum we take him in the car and talk to him and if that doesn't work we let him have his tantrum in the car. I don't think hitting a toddler is necessary. He's just a kid. We want our kids to feel safe with us not intimidated and do what we tell them cause they're afraid. But because we do things the way we do. Tantrums don't happen.
@baby_villa_number2, I agree with you
@baby_villa_number2, i agree..im not against your parenting at all..my daughter gets her ass whooped especially if she starts those tantrums
@baby_villa_number2, im with you..sometimes a ass whoopin is well needed
My daughter has never had a meltdown in public. She knows "the look" an she knows i wont feed into her tantrums. I dont agree tht spanking a child fixes a tantrum but makes it worse. Some things just arent worth all tht.
First, I get down to his level and let him know that what he is doing is not okay. If that doesn't work I'll simply pick him up and take him to the car until he calms down. If the meltdown is too long we will leave completely. I personally feel like beating them is only going to make them cry/scream even more.
I have never experienced a melt down before. It just doesnt work that way in my house. My kids may cry ifI'd say no about something but it is over quickly. never had a kicking screaming fall out or had to leave a store
Honestly? I just up and leave the store. I'll deal with in at home or even in the car. No need to bother others when it's as simple as going home and going back later. If I'm checking out, then I do so quickly, and leave. Luckily, I've only had to leave my basket and walk out only once.

Hi, I'm new to here, hope your all well xx
I use some type of distraction. If we're in the supermarket & she's screaming at the top of her lungs I will pass her groceries & let her drop it in the cart. It makes her feel like she is helping out.
