I have another scan next Tuesday I'll be 36 weeks 5 days.. does anyone know what's gonna be happening at this?
Nothing as been said to me about, my labour or anything. I have to travel 120 miles too once it all starts.. and nothing has been said to me. Getting so pissed off!
Yup, it's such a scary thought! Defo going to ask mw, my brains going to explode with worry @safiamammy1 ☹️️ the consultant is pretty horrible up here so I don't expect anything from him, but I see him and mw on Tuesday.. so they will be giving me answers and defo explaining my options 😄 @suzie80 xx
If your not considering medical intervention and your not high risk you can ask for it. They don't give u the choice or ask if u want one normally. But if your that worried perhaps a chat with the midwife ASAP about options is in order. I wouldn't expect the consultant to be thinking about your travel arrangements they are clueless to these things. Least u could consider if u want to hire a birth pool use tens and gas and air at home. It may be safer and at least if there are issues u have someone qualified there? @rms18
They'll be an estimated weight too :) and a report gets printed after...which you show either to your midwife or consultant xx
I had a scan at 35+6 :) They just measure the baby like they do at the other scans xx
It is deffo a scary thing doesnt matter how many babies u have never gets easier, they should be giving u information and preparing you more, its a bit stupid on there part to let u worry about it all, when do u see mw next? Write a list of questions u want to ask and hoepfully they can give u answers xx
If I wanted one then yes I think so, but that's not even been mentioned @suzie80 ☹️️ exactly, am freaking out @safiamammy1 labour is already a stressful and scary thought in every mums to be mind, never mind the thought of giving birth in a car at the side of the road😳😳 x
I thought us having to travel 40 miles to the nearest hospital was bad enough, thats terrible 120 miles, what happens if u labour quickly x
They send you home if it all comes to a hault in the hospital, and expect your partners to pay to stay in the hospital hotel.. which is 300 for just 4 nights. It's terrible
The letter says a scan then see my consultant afterwards, so it must be the same as usual then @suzie80 I'm actually clueless to what's happening! I live right at the top of Scotland and the hospital that can be used doesn't have the 'facilities' so if it's your first baby they send you down to Inverness which is 120 miles away... but keep in mind you get checked in the hospital, and if below 6cm dilated they send you on your way and have to find your own way down to Inverness! @mother_of_humans
Good for you, i agree with @suzie80 deffo speak to somebody about options and go from there xx
