So im at risk for pre e and not supposed to be alone, only person that could stay with me works. Has anyone's husbands taken fmla before the baby gets here?
Oh no, I know I'm def going to listen to them and try to get my doctor to write my husband something saying its medically necessary he stay home with me. We've already filled out all the paper work for fmla so he's taking that when babies born but I wasn't sure if maybe he could take it before baby was born too @2queenbee9
I wouldnt assume anything. There may be a medical reasob that is personal to you as to why you need not be alone with pre eclampsia. Just because someone else's doctor didn't inform them properly doesnt mean you shouldn't listen to your doctor. Pre eclampsia is serious and is a large cause of early induction in women. Fmla would work but he probably wont get paid
The only thing I can think of is that they listed seizures as one of the symptoms of pre e and I have epilepsy so I'd figure im probably more at risk for them to come on @ssdj4
@ssdj4, not sure honestly, it's just what they told me at l&d and its in my paperwork that I can't be alone for two weeks
@thompsonmomma, I just turned in my disability for being on bed rest.... and we discussed FMLA... which would be unpaid for me... definitely will be a last option for us!
I dont think it works that way but never hurts to ask. all they can do is say no
