I still have my son in newborn diapers. He keeps leaking through them though and i change him regularly. Is it time to go to size 1 diapers?

Yup, that's what happened with us with Huggies too. We have never tried the Up & Up brand bc we had Pampers Swaddlers in the hospital and stuck with them. Just saying, there is a reason Pampers are #1. I know they're probably more expensive than Target brand, but it's worth it. Pampers also has a rewards program where you earn points and codes to help you save money. @morninglight

I say time for the bigger size when that happens.

my son sometimes outgrows the absorbancy of a size before actually outgrowing it. like the newborn diapers fit but he peed more than they were meant to hold. so we go up when that happens.

I think they still fit okay. Been using the up and up brand which is basically the same thing as pampers I think. The Huggies that I started out with I hated because he would pee out the side if his diaper every time. @emilyd

If they are still fitting him properly, it could just be the diaper brand. Personally, we love pampers and only use pampers. The only blowouts we have are up-the-backers when he sits in his car seat. We moved up to 1s about 7 weeks old when I could barely fasten his diapers.
