Anyone else feel like some family members are going to want to take over and some just don't care? Struggling with the thought that I'm going to be told everything I doing wrong when my baba is here. :/
@raych, yes they do, lol hopefully she will settle down a bit xx
my parent's doesn't care, since my niece was born they have pushed out my two children and don't care about the unborn baby, my oldest is autistic and she doesn't understand on why her nan and grandad don't want to know her
@squish86, they tend to forget that every baby is different don't they but my mil had 3 boys and I'm having twins boys so she knows it all at the min lol xx
@raych, she does mean a lot to me but she is just too over bearing, she also thinks the baby will be the same as my partner (not settling in Moses basket, having colic, not breast feeding ect ) xx
I'm feeling you!!! my mil is lovely and I genuinely think the world of her.....but because she is a twin and I'm having twins she thinks she knows everything there is to know!
I've had to learn to tell her to back off a tad, yes she is a twin but she hasn't had nor carried twins!
oh dear you got an only child........I don't envy you @squish86 xx
We've viewed several but the cost of deposit, months rent in advance and the tenancy set up fee is just ridiculous, it's so annoying isn't it! :/ I don't mind moving just not closer to her. I just feel like there's a lot more pressure on me with him being an only child xx
@squish86, yeah the only child thing really won't help. XD Rob (my OH) is one of four including a 2 year old my mother in law had 20 years later than the other 3. xx
@squish86, it's horrible to find a new place! doesn't make it any easier that my OH wants to stay in specific area, whereas personally I'd move anywhere. We've viewed so many houses and got nowhere. :/ xx
My partner is an only child so I think that's why she's even worse xx
@nessie95, we are in a one bedroom flat, she keeps saying we need to get a house closer to her.... We live about 10-15 mins away but apparently we need to be even closer. Don't think she realises how hard it is to get a house now. Xx
@squish86, because we're having a little girl and she has a family of lads, my mother in law is massively excited, so bought us a hell of a lot! the amount of clothes we have,I don't even think we'll get through half. 😂😂 xx
@squish86, every baby is different, so it all depends on what that child does/wants. Mine just keeps going on at us regarding out living situation (we live in a small flat and have been trying to move out for the last few months but got nowhere due to money or trying to go through the council and them messing us about) but she's given up doing so now and is going to give me a hand tonight to sort out the flat ready for our girl, so I guess that's a step up. I think she just wants to feel useful but sometimes it's a bit over bearing. xx
Mine hasn't bought anything yet, she said she's waiting until we know the sex but I know she will go overboard buying blue or pink things xx
@sara-lou I know I do. I don't think she means to do it, but she just can't help herself. I've finally started speaking up now, problem is, my OH family are a bunch of out spoken geordies, as much as I love them, sometimes it's hard to get a word in edgeways haha. I'm already massively defensive over my little girl and she's not even here yet. 😂😂 xx
It's like I know they're excited and everything but at the same time they need to learn to back off if that makes sense? I bought my Moses basket last week and she said I don't know why you've bought one of those because Adam (my partner) didn't settle in his, im just sat there thinking that doesn't mean our baby won't settle in it xx
You have to learn to grow tough skin & ignore the tedious comments @nessie95 & speak up when you feel someone's trying to take over. People will only do what you allow them to. You'll soon get defensive as we all do over our children 😂
Yeah I know what you mean, mine is the same. Don't get me wrong,I really appriciate everything she has done for us (she has purchased most of the baby stuff) but even now she tells me what I'm doing wrong and what I need to do and when I need to do it etc. xx
Same here, my mother in law is going overboard. She's even talking about taking little one on holiday with her and it's not even been born yet x

Is anyone going to judge me for giving my unborn son some McDonalds?
What are some natural remedies to make your child go poop? My nephew is refusing to go, it’s like he has to but he’s afraid to for some reason.
I can go for a burger and some chicken wings right now .
Some people I swear 🙄
I'm just going to sit here and shake my head at you. You are ridiculous. 🖐🏻
@jules32, that's horrible! they don't know what they're missing out on. my own mother won't be involved with my child/future children due to her own illnesses (she is currently being sectioned due to an unknown mental illness similar to dementia). my step dad on the other hand wants total involvement due to finding out he has prostate cancer and not wanting to miss out on his grandchildren. it's horrible when you're own family aren't involved. :/ I hope they change for the benefit of your children. xx
