Be careful with that though. I'm not sure how true this is but when my cousin was filing for child support, they told her that you can't file for support unless baby has his last name. I'm not 100% sure that's true but I would look into it if you're planning on filing.

One of my son's does not have his father's last name, he has mine & his dad pays CS... Court asked if he wants a paternity test but he didn't want one done @vanessarazo

So let's say the baby has ur last name, IF u don't want him around I wouldn't go file for child support cuz then he will automatically be eligible for visitation once the baby is old enough and he can fight in court to have his name added on with a paternity test, especially once child support is put on he is helping you take care of the baby and is eligible for visitation and maybe half custody depending if he's stable enough so just be careful,

He can defiantly fight for it in court and if he is helping with the baby then they probably won't see a reason why not, my husbands ex is trying to have our last name taken off and they won't let her since he pays child support and dose wat he is supposed too, why not do both ?

My son's dad wasn't in my son's life until he was 10 months old. Once he wanted a part of his life, the court ordered it be changed to hyphenated.
