Question what birth control makes you gain weight

The paraguard is an IUD. Any birth control that has hormones can make you gain weight, I had the nexplanon and gained a ton of weight from it.

@kbrown91 is the paragard a pill or shot or something else? I'm going to my follow up appointment and want to get on some birth control. just don't know what yet

Yep. any with hormones have the possibility of making you gain weight. paragard is the only hormone free one that I know of, which is what I'm getting.

some people say the depo shot. I was on it for Three years and I didn't gain. I think it just affects everyone differently.

Any with hormones have this possibility, though it doesn't happen every time. The only one I knowof without hormones is Paragard
