Probably a stupid question but... I'm having period-type pains along with back ache about every 10-15 mins which last for about 20-30 seconds. Could this be the start? 😁 Seems to be making baby wriggle about quite a bit too once it fades. Have called midwife unit but all they said is to go in if I feel I can't cope with the pain anymore but I'm just worrying because as this is my first I don't know what to expect 🙈

Yeah my bump does go firmer at around the same time so fingers crossed!! It's just annoying as I don't know what to expect and what is/isn't a sign as no two labour experiences are the same so what happens for one person won't be the same for someone else. Hoping this is the start though so I don't have to be induced on Monday!! Thanks @canteloupe24 xx

Could be :) my contractions felt like really, really intense period pains that kept getting stronger and my tummy and back would really tighten with each contraction. Good luck! x

Birth Plan Rant I used to be all about getting an epidural, but after research and thinking about it more I want to have an unmedicated birth (this is my first baby). What annoys me is when I say that I'm going to TRY my hardest to have a natural and unmedicated birth people always feel the need to say that I'm crazy or that I'm going to change my mind when I get in that position. Or that epidurals are the best. I do realize that plans change, but why can't people be supportive and encouraging?
