@naomiedgd, I have to fast for 12hrs. That phrase sounded and still sounds like death! Don't know how I'm going to do it. I know I will get sick so looks like I'll be popping medicine tonight and in the morning. Ugh!

I wouldn't risk it. you'll just have to do another longer more annoying test.

@reyesmomma, yea I know. I'm not going to risk it but it's a battle right now. And I'm running off of 2 hrs worth of sleep from last night but I'm just not sleepy. Which makes matters worse cause now I'm up working thinking about food. Lol.

@nolans1stlove yea I can feel that lol. I wonder why your doc is having to do long. I only had to stop eating like 3 hours ahead.

I have no idea. It may be a standard for her practice. That's my guess cause I'm having a normal pregnancy as far as the baby goes. But it may be my family history of diabetes.

did the test this pass mon..Remember if you do the actual test at home and then go take take within 1 hr like i did was given drink 4 wks before to. take home and refrigerate..don't eat or drink anything not even water until after they test your blood.I had the orange flavor and has to be drank in 5 min . tasted not as bad but..did make me a little shakey after

I'm already about to vomit! So that's a indication on how his is going to go in a few hours. I'm starving! And i couldn't get my drink prior to going. I have to get t when I get there. The doctor told me I could drink water but I couldn't eat anything for 12 hrs

Omg I take mine in a couple of hours and I haven't ate anything since about 9 last night but I have had something to drink mine is at 2:10 so can I not eat until then? My doctor didn't tell me anything or give restrictions just that I have the test today. ? FTM help me please

@mechelle444, I'm a FTM also. But if you weren't given restrictions then you should be okay. My doctor just has a 12 hr fast and 2 hour test as a standard for her practice. The test is actually not as bad as I thought it was going to be. The drink was like a cold watered down fruit punch/cherry kool aide drink. If I can do it, you can too. I'm sitting here waiting for my last bit of blood to be drawn with my feet up in a reclining chair at this lab.

@nolans1stlove, yea I didn't have any restrictions but I thought maybe I was going to fail if I ate or anything. After you get up take it slow since they're taking blood don't want you to pass out. & I hope so thank you let me know if you pass and I think my test is only an hour.

Your lucky it's only a hour. But time flew by for me. Me and another lady were talking which made time fly by. Afterwards I got something to eat, took a tour of another hospital which I think I'm going to deliver at instead of the one I initially thought I would. Now I'm home in the bed resting eating chips! I will keep you posted on the results. I'll know what they are when I go to the doctor on Thursday. Good luck on your test. And let me know your results also!
