breastfeeding mums is it worth buying a breast pump? I'm a bit torn on if it's worth it or not?
yeah that's the main thing @amybee that they get fed properly I hope I will be successful with it but if not so be it. thanks for Ur comment <3
I was adamant I wanted to exclusively breast feed. Because baby has a small mouth she's had trouble latching correctly which has lead to supply issues. They started her on formula top ups in hospital and I've had to continue them. My breasts are sooo sore and sometimes get blocked, my nipples are still soooo agonizing. I pump in between feeds and give her breast as often as she wants it. I generally always have to give her a bottle of formula before bed and in the night though as it helps her sleep better. No matter what happens don't beat urself up. Some lucky mothers produce loads of milk and take to it like a duck to water. Others struggle .. But that's okay too :) as long as baby is getting fed that's what counts. I really hope it's successful for u. Xx
I breast fed for about the same amount of time @kayleighandcharlotte :( in a way it worked for us because I couldn't keep up with her anyway, it is the most draining thing. Yes formula is a struggle! Luckily I only had to change once and she's great on this one, but I see some women having to change like 7 times! It's crazy haha
@nicolemarie, the same thing happened to me 😪 I breast fed for 9 days and for the last 3 days of it I wasn't producing enough. @bonb92 it's just something that happens sometimes. And then using formula is a whole nother shit fight of finding the right one for your Bub.
I'd really like to breastfeed even if its a challenge cause of the pain etc I'd like to stick to it so will see
I couldn't breast feed either... Just mentally I couldn't do it... That was with ALL 4 of my babies and it will probably be the same with this one? 😕 I did try pump in the beginning and it kinda worked but yea maybe wait till ur home and u know for sure what u wanna do? I have friends that solely pump and bottle feed then friends that breast feed ALL day EVERY day! Hehe ☺️ xxx
No :( I thought I was going to breast feed my girl for as long as possible, it's just something you find out once it's happening. I'm sure you will breastfeed fine though :) maybe buy a pump you can return just in case
oh no! @nicolemarie are they any signs you may not be able to breastfeed?
I would wait until you have given birth, I bought one and I couldn't breastfeed so we wasted $200!
yeah I've herd that will soon find out :D
