Can babies throw temper tantrums? According to my mother in law my son is a brat and he throws fits her advice was for my husband to spark him he's 3 months why on earth would anyone spank a baby

Babies cannot throw tantrums that young. And to spank an infant is absolutely preposterous! I'm glad you are his mommy and not her, because anyone who would suggest spanking a 3 month old has deeper issues than I care to guess at.

I agree with @tayek that's just cruel for her to even suggest that. Babies can be cranky yes, but that comes with the territory, naturally!! Your baby could be teething early, not feeling well, there's tons of reasons. That baby only knows to cry to let you know something is upsetting him.
