Omg! same thing here!! I'll teach my daughter Portuguese and my husband Spanish. And then she'll eventually learn English once she goes to school. do you speak portuguese?

I would definitely teach English before hand, I have a few friends who did this and said they regret it because when they did get to school they were socially awkward and couldn't talk to the other children until learning English

my mom was told to teach your language first as the child will learn English quick in school. so I only spoke Spanish until I started kindergarten. I learned before the month was over. she tried the opposite approach with my siblings and neither of them can speak a word of Spanish now

@jessicruz, exactly. My point. My son is 9 and we always talked to him in English, big mistake. Now it's harder for him to learn Spanish 😑
