My mother in law has crossed boundaries that have upset me. When I delivered she rushed to the hospital and came to our room in 25-30minuted when we told her we did NOT want visitors for 4-5 hours. She didn't even let us enjoy time alone with my baby and it was rediculous. I also post partum hemmoraged terribly and was still being treated which means I was being revealed several times when the nurse came in to check on me and I was heavily drugged. I felt like my boundaries were disrespected and I let her know this. She comes back and tells me to respect her culturally with my boyfriends families tradition. I was not respected so I feel very upset. Any advice from other mamas with dealing with your mother in laws especially when they cross a line. I feel like I lost a wonderful experience for me and my family especially when someone bursts in your delivery room when you don't want them there. She also threatened me with the fact I will lose her side of the family in the honest truth I could care less I have my own family. She's also now playing a huge victim role and has deleted me off Facebook. I have not been rude to her but she has pretty much shown me how childish she can be I'm bout to end having any relationship with her and bf saids he will talk to her but I'm feeling done with the way she's acting.

My MIL and I don't get along either. She has the nerves to go to my mom and talk bad about me and comes to me and talks bad about my mom and say to keep it between us since she wants to reunite the family together. The day I was at the hospital delivering my son, I only had my SIL and my husband in the room only and once the baby was born she comes into the room trying to take pictures and all the nurses and doctors told her to go outside but she refuse saying that she just came in to see the baby and my husband told her to go outside that he will go out there and go get them. She had the nerves to drag the doctors out even though one of them was dealing with the baby and the other was trying to stop the bleeding from me since I lost a lot of blood, just so she can take a picture. She also got mad at me at the hospital because I didn't want her in the room when o was going to have my son. My mom told her that it was between me and my husband to have that moment and my mom respected our wishes of not having our mothers in the room. Yet my MIL is not right on her head. It's hard to deal with MIL that are stubborn and think they are allowed to be involved in your relationship. Just do what my father told me. Keep conversations short just say hi how are you doing and then keep a distant between you two so no one will get hurt and start something

Hi love. I am so sorry you are dealing with this. My MIL is cut from similar cloth. I've had to deal with disrespect from her towards me and my family on multiple occasions. She is dramatic and immature and obsessed with my husband. She was constantly crossing boundaries I had placed because she wanted all the power. That sounds like what your MIL was and is doing. Do NOT let her win, but find a way to be the bigger person. Basically what I did was cut her out of my life. If she calls or texts I keep my replies very simple and short, that way she knows I dislike her and have no interest in having her be a part of my life without giving her the power to be able to make me out to be the bad person to my husband. If she goes against your wishes again, look her straight in the eye and say something to the effect of "you are being very disrespectful and I do not appreciate it. I would be happy to have you around me when you can be respectful and kind. Until then, you may leave". That way you aren't technically kicking her out but you are getting your point across. That's what has worked for me so far @lizzib00
