Anyone have a problem with too much milk being produced and baby choking on it?? (Who would've thought this was a real problem lol)
I had over active let down with my son. it was way too much milk for him, and he would spit it all up, because it was coming too fast. I was told to lay down as much as I could when breastfeeding, and it did help. but he still got lots of milk, and I had a very chubby baby :p
i went to a lactation consultant about this. they told me to let my son latch and when i feel the let down happen to pull him off and let the milk spray into a breat pad (he gets mad everytime but doesnt get as much gas from it) then once it slows to let him feed. i have to do this every time we nurse or he tries to chug and gets so gassy and upset all day. they also said pumpinf could work or reclining in a chair and let him lay on top of the breast so he can control the flow better with his tongue. lately i find lay down nursing to work really well too. which is great at night when he decides he wants to nurse every 3 hours. hopefully u can get some advice from your doctor ☺
That's the sucky part .. you can either never produce milk which makes you feel shitty or you produce too much that it becomes a problem. I'd pump and freeze and feed that way if you have to. Luckily .. your lil one takes a bottle. Mine has started rejecting it bc we don't do it often (our fault). Just know you've got support, love 😊
Thanks for the support!! This is harder than I expected! My milk never came in with my daughter so we did formula only from about 2 weeks! I thought when my milk came in within a couple days this time, that we were in the clear lol @tlistboom
damn mama. I feel for you!
My left boob is bad at times and she screams during some feeds with it .. but if it were often, I'd definitely be much more frustrated. See what the doctor says .. maybe some advice might help .. or keep pumping and bottle feeding if need be. Don't feel bad .. as long as your lil one is healthy and growing, do what you need to do to be sane and healthy yourself. XO ..
The last 2 days have been scream sessions at almost every feed! So I pumped and gave him a bottle this evening, and no crying or pulling away! I guess he can control the flow easier with the nipple of the bottle...first the thrush, now the oversupply of milk 😔 @tlistboom I'm gonna have to talk to my dr about this one!!
sometimes .. like after a while of not feeding (ie overnight) .. too much milk comes out and my lil one chokes or pulls away and it squirts everywhere. lol. It doesn't happen everyday though ..

Стащить у матери бутылку воды? Problem? No problem 😂.
Thanks guys I tried both things, the laying back which makes a ton of sense and also the milk spray out into a blanket during let down! It's crazy how I ended up getting too much milk after with my daughter I never got any milk lol @sarah433 @shaunnahleigh
