My group b test was positive. On top of my shitty appointment, that's exactly what I need 😡 I want to switch to an OB. NOW. I hate my midwife. I hate the whole team of midwives I see. Does anyone know of an OB in San Diego willing to take me this late in my pregnancy?
The problem is, my insurance requires me to have a referral from my PCP to see a certain OB... So I gotta choose one that will take me and then make an appointment with my PCP to refer me. Then I gotta wait for the OB to approve me. It's just such a long process but I'm not comfortable delivering with these midwives at all. I just moved here at 36 weeks because my husband is military. :/ @sarahb518
Then I would call your pcp asap. They should be able to refer you without you picking an OB. Generally they only have one or two that they refer to who would generally be in the same medical group. I would just start calling around to try to be seen by an OB. And if worst comes to worst, call 911 when you into labor and they will take you to a hospital with ob's on call. But if you do it that way, make sure you tell them about your positive group b test so you can get the meds during labor. @babymaverick
