I know it varies but about how many oz or ml should baby be eating? She eats about 20 ml at a time but the nurses up here act as if that's not enough or something.
@heykira, yep no problem! They'll look more at her weight lost than how much she's eating. As long as she doesn't lose more than 10% of her birth weight they won't be concerned. 😊Good luck momma.
Right @ainsleighsmumma I knew it was tiny that's why I was like well why are the nurses acting that way??? And that's definitely good to know @dang_dridri thank you you put my mind at ease
& what @ainsleighsmumma said is right. Her little tummy is too tiny for any thing over that really.
@heykira, right & they told me at the hospital they don't really eat like they should the first day or two so don't worry, that's why they lose weight after birth then regain it within the first two days or so. I was worried as well so I was asking all kinds of questions but the doctors weren't worried.
Ok so it could just be her appetite isn't that big right now? I know her lil tummy isn't all that big I just don't wanna be starving her or forcing her to eat when she's not hungry @dang_dridri
My babies were eating about that while in the hospital (I had them Monday & we were discharged Friday). Then the closer they got to a week they started eating about 40-50mL of my breastmilk.
Baby should be drinking 1 to 1 1/2 oz per hour... So if baby is eating every 2-3 hours baby should be drinking 3-4 1/2 oz...
At a day old? She doesn't really act hungry after the 20~ mL and I don't wanna force her to eat if she's not hungry ya know? But the nurses the way they act when I say how much she's eaten they're like just 20??? So idk if she needs more.. @mami2d

the amount of women who are clueless about their own anatomy is so sad and shocking. a lot of the women are older than me and have more children then I do 😳
now I understand that everyone has their own opinion on the topic and grown adults can do whatever they want with their bodies but to deny facts and make up false statements about your own anatomy when it comes to your unborn child is just so disappointing.
