Breast feeding mommies, what do y'all use on your nipples? Mine hurt so bad and I want to cry every time she latches on and starts eating and it's only day 2
She's 3 days old today @ginabee93 and I'm trying not too pump just yet trying to wait until closer to when I have to go to work but jn sure I'll have to start as soon as it comes in all the way lol
Ask the pediatrician for Comfort Gel Pads. They are soooooo magical. Before I got em my nipps felt like they were gonna come off 😫 The gel pads plus lanolin girl yessss.
Also when I pumped it helped a whole lot with the pain from her latching. It'll get better.
You can use your colostrum as well. Keep feeding her and your milk will come in. How old is she? Is usual takes a few days for milk to fully come in.
BREASTMILK haha that worked better for me than everything else
I never really cared for it with my daughter I just kind of stuck it out. The first couple weeks suck, but after that your nipples toughen up. They are just not used to that much stimulation.
Breast milk worked so much better for me than lanolin.
Okay that's the one my sister was buying me on her way home from work. They have me the medela brand at the hospital but it sucks ass lol @juliakoren
Also rubbing breastmilk on your nipples will help as well.
Unfortunately that's really the first week or two of breastfeeding. My daughter is 3 weeks old and mine are still sore and I've breastfed for 18 months with my first. Your nipples just have to toughen up...have you talked to a lactation consultant to make sure she is latching properly?
You can use some lanolin to help with the discomfort. Breastfeeding my daughter was uncomfortable for the first week or so, but after that it was smooth sailing.
Your milk supply should come in soon. And once that happens your milk will soothe the pain your nipples are feeling.
