you mean you right? they prefer you to wait for 6 weeks because of healing and lowering risk of infection from body bacteria. i would say at least 4 weeks. i waited 4 weeks after my son before I bathed but i showered right after (hr or 2) having him.

for baby its when the umbilical cord falls off and is healed.

you can bathe when you want, it's very healing especially with some postpartum herbs
